The search bar hates me, so after searching over 400+ topics in the only categories that would seem suitable, I could not find a tattoo thread.
Tattoos have beeb around for thousands of years, if not longer. Wasn’t there that chick they dug up somewhere over in Europe who had dried skin on her so well preserved you could still see the tattoos? I think she was buried with some bud too. The Maori people have long inherited tattoos into their culture since who knows how long, signifying a boys transition into a man. Let’s not forget infamous henna tattoos that are known all over the world. There’s more info on those topics, but it behoves us to do our own research and not just take what we all have to say at face value.
Years ago my bosses son was having a deal where ya pay $50 to get a tattoo of your choice. I brought in some ideas of what I wanted and after hours of messing around with designs he finally started working on me. Few more hours later he was done, but it was so choppy I went to another guy to get the whole thing done.
If yer new at getting ink, or don’t want it to look like ya just got out of the jail cell, spend some time investing into a decent artist.
This is not my first tattoo, but one that’s easy to access. Right shoulder.

I’ve got sleeves from the top of my shoulders, left arm a few inches above the elbow, the right almost touching the elbow.
When I was 15yo I got a tat on my forearm just to piss off my father [Stupid boy ]
it wasn’t long before I regretted getting a tat in such an obvious position so I promised myself not to get another until I was 30yo.
That’s when I got sleeves.
Yes Red, there’s something addictive about the needles.
At the time I was planning on getting a full back job of a wizard and his huge fierce canine familiar but didn’t have the money [I didn’t want an incomplete tattoo or have it worked on by different artists]
Back in my youth many tattoo studios had a sign saying NO FACE NECK HANDS or FEET. DON’T EVEN ASK!
I really can’t understand the modern trend to get face, neck or hand tats.
Like this really attractive girl I’ve known since she was 13yo who is now in her twenties, has a big ugly tat on the side of her neck. Yuck.
Just the other day there was a guy at my GPs surgery who had both hands inked. They must have been new because the receptionist made a comment.
The guy was as pleased as punch as they were his ONLY tats. like wtf? Who gets their first tats on such an obvious body part?
My ink is personal, they were for me not others. That’s why I got them where they’re easily covered with a t-shirt.
thanks for sharing your tats! although I don’t have any..(im a skin virgin, no ink anywhere) some are definitely some great works of art. i especially like tribal ones

always wondered. does getting a tattoo hurt at all?
Several needles pounding into your skin hundred times a minute? Yep it hurts.
The thing is though that one must act like it doesn’t hurt.
It takes me a few minutes to get into a zone where I can take it without it hurting too much [Hard to explain but I use a meditative technique]
Some areas are heaps sensitive, like the insides of ones upper arms [that stings], the stomach but they say the worst spot is over the kidney area.
In my youth I never understood the guys who had heaps of really small tats. It was not until I got my sleeves that I realised that these were the guys who couldn’t sit in the chair getting inked for more than five minutes. When I looked closer I saw that these guys never had a tat in a sensitive spot.
It’s also why you often see guys with a lot of ink on their arms but never on the inside of their upper arms. It’s because they’re pussies
My attitude was that a few hours of pain was worth something that lasted a lifetime.
It can. Personally I find it almost relaxing. Relaxing in the sense that it distracts my mind from the everyday suffering. I’m doing way better at not victimizing myself these days
My scarab with the falcon wings - I honestly was expecting it to be a tender area around my armpit, but I shit you Illinois, I giggled because it tickled.
