For those of you interested in 3D printing and design, hereās a thread for that.
I will start with a summary of the currently free-available 3D CAD programs. I use DesignSpark Mechanical and have been quite happy with it.

i wish 3d printers were more mainstream so we could do A TON of stuff!! whatever happened to 3d printing anyway? it doesnāt seem as āmainstreamā or anything.
Most people want something they donāt need to learn how to use. 3D printers were never going to be that; they were never going to be like learning how to use an inkjet printer. They were over-hyped and going to be āeasy to useā but they never really were. 3D printing is a craft that one needs to learn, due to the quirks the different printers have. In order to make consistently good prints one has to learn a few tricks and then learn about the different nozzles and temperatures and then all the different quirks of the different materials. Thereās that, and then there is of course the software side of things to learn as well.
Wonder why these never quite took off
They mostly did. Lots are sold every year and many people use them.
Really now ? Hmm. Guess im out of the loop on it
went to a 3d printer place today in a mall. was really cool the amount of stuff they were making!
