From what I’ve found prepper dedicated sites are usually full of overpriced, made in China products - I find camping/outdoors equipment and food is usually a lot better
Ever since Chinese manufacturers put melanin [a form of formaldehyde] into infant formula [to give a false higher protein level when tested] I’ve refused to buy any food that’s made in China.
Never heard about that before, wouldn’t surprise that they would do so though. Scumbags

The infant formula passed “qualification tests” and sold to the Chinese public.
It was not discovered until thousands of kids started to fall desperately ill. Some died. Others were permanently injured requiring dialysis.
Ever since even the Chinese will not trust made in China formula.
Chinese migrants selling Aussie formula to China became so big that it created formula shortages here, forcing the govt to intervene.
Chinese just love formaldehyde in all it’s forms for all sorts of applications. Chinese fabrics are treated with formaldehyde to reduce wrinkling for example.
Once I even found formalin written as an ingredient on a label on a bottle of baby shampoo.
There is a zero acceptable level of formaldehyde in the human body. Highly toxic shit.

If you or someone you know does NOT have the correct amount of food, water and meds and LOTS of plastic sheeting and duct tape they better buy it now or when it happens will be to late! They also better know HOW to act when it happens and what they MUST do to survive AFTER for up to many months.

Here is what you can do to lower your costs on food, you can get some canning jars and moisture absorbent packs or get a vacuum sealer and lots of bags and buy some bulk beans and rice and other bulk dried foods and seal them up yourself, you can make up your mixes for soups and stews and whatever you can think of and make the packs as big or as small as you wish for how many people you are serving or how long YOU want to eat on a opening. It is much more affordable as well. you can even add your spices to them as long as they are dried types.
yeah i need to get on that, thanks. i mean i have a good amount of canned food, rice, beans, cereal for at least 3 months but nothing actually that would last longer than the expiration date. thing is, most of my family aren’t prepared, so i’m trying to think of ways of storing food for them. i believe i’m running out of time in order to actually be able to help them survive for a couple of months including my household
Remember seeing some videos of it happening in Aus, from what it looked like they bought up entire aisles of the stuff leaving nothing for people who needed it. Did they not have to impose buying limits on certain products to stop it?
I hear ya, I have some family that only keeps a few DAYS worth of food in the house and they don’t intend to stock up, I gave up talking to them about it.
Like I said, if you use a seal-a-meal or other ways (like canning jars) you can make up dried soups and stew mixes and all you have to do is add water, and being dried they will store a LONG time IF you keep them sealed up and and dry and in good storage areas.
Make sure you have enough for yourself and some extra. The REALLY BAD part is what will you do when or IF they ALL come knocking on your door asking for you to help them and IF you do and it runs you out of supplies what do you do? ONLY YOU can answer that!

Can’t recall what measures the govt took [something to do with private export limits I think] but stores cracked down imposing limits and one of the manufacturers went as far as reserving formula for direct sales to Aussies only.
Not that it stopped the little yellow pests.
The manufacturers simply increased production to meet the demand.
It shows just how ignorant and stupid the Chinese are.
One manufacturer destroyed their entire industry overnight just to get an edge over their competitors, killing and injuring thousands of babies in the process. Fourteen years later and they’re still boned, all for a quick, sneaky dollar.
From my experiences in China I’ve found hoarding food/essentials to be common among their older population, mostly due to Mao (?) era policies, but if they’re only doing to it sell for a profit then yeah… pure greed

Yes but my point is that for giving themselves the slightest of advantages [the melanin ‘tricked’ the test to give a 2-3% higher protein level reading] they’ve completely screwed their own business for many many decades to come.
These are babies who were assaulted. People have very long memories.
It’s the basic essential food for babies and infants whose mothers are unable to breastfeed [or too lazy] so they knew exactly who they were harming.
Formaldehyde is one of the most toxic to human chemicals on the planet. Wtf did they think that would happen?
