Cannabis is an amazingly versatile medicine.

Hemp is an amazingly versatile plant that could replace most [some say all] petrochemical products.

Cannabis elixir was once the most widely prescribed medicine in the Western world.

U.S. farmers were tricked into signing an agreement to not grow hemp which was a dependable cash crop because Big Industries products simply can’t compete on a level playing field with hemp.

Then TPTB went after cannabis, labelling it marijuana in a bullshit campaign of disinfo that started with the Marijuana Madness propaganda.

Cannabis has kept me alive. Over 21 years ago I was diagnosed with Buergers disease, spent six months in hospital and given 2-3 years to live.

In that time I’ve known 12 other Buergers patients, all of whom died within 3 years after diagnosis.

I smoke 2-3 pipes of homegrown cannabis, often with a small bit of homemade hashish, daily for chronic nerve pain.

Before I was banned from Farcebook, I was discussing my experience with a G.P. in a medicinal cannabis FB group, who asked if I realised that cannabis has an anti-inflammatory effect and would that explain why my Buergers has not progressed?

Absolutely yes it would explain things.

My pain clinic Drs are aggressive arseholes who have tried to push their liver destroying pHarmaceuticals including really dangerous anti-epileptics [Epillim at first. When that patent expired they started pushing Lyrica which is just as toxic as Epillim] for nerve pain saying “It might help”.

Bullshit it helps. Anti-epileptics destroy the liver, have dreadful side-effects and sudden cessation can kill.

Apart from morphine for chronic pain [which I’ve dramatically reduced over time thanks to cannabis] I’ve refused all their pHarmaceuticals.

The 12 other Buergers patients who are now dead, all followed doctors orders and drank the kool-aid without question.

Says a lot really.

Cannabis treats and cures so many diseases and ailments.

Because Big pHarma’s pHarmaceuticals can’t compete with cannabis, they’ve spent billions over the years bribing politicians to keep cannabis illegal.

Still to this day BP donates millions annually to the two big political parties here in Nanny State Australia where cannabis is still illegal.

I’ve been a bit slack lately and have not kept up with my medicinal requirements.

Intending to germinate a few seeds a couple of months ago I kept putting it off because my back was playing up.

As it turns out I had a home inspection last week. Had I started a grow when I intended the house would have been reeking of weed that was ripening.

Black market weed was hard to get through the covid lockdowns. What has appeared since has been rather disappointing.

While searching for my hash the other day I came across a half oz of Cherry OG [Kush] which really nails one to the couch. That was a much needed surprise.

The difference between good home grown and black market buds are like chalk and cheese.

A few weeks ago I germinated three seeds; a White Widow, a WW x Amnesia and a Fast Train.

Can’t go past White Widow strains. A very good smoke.

The WW x Amnesia is an excellent day medication with a 3-4 hour high.

Have not grown Fast Train before so seeing how it turns out is something to look forward to. [It has a few possible phenotypes so it could go in a few directions]

I also make hash oil from sugar leaf and scrappy little buds that I turn into a solid for ease of handling.

Anyone else grow their own medicine?

It’s been so long since I’ve enjoyed magic mushrooms.

I’ve got some spores that were given to me but I really don’t know how to grow them safely [From what I’ve read, due to the required moisture of the grow medium and humidity levels, there’s a risk of a particular nasty mould growing]

Dropped my first LSD trip at 15yo. What a wonderful experience.

From what I’ve heard, LSD is no longer available anywhere, not even in the U.S. nor Europe.

[To manufacture LSD, one requires quite a few chems that are on the alert list. Ordering just one of them brings scrutiny and unwanted attention]

Magic mushrooms were the closest thing to an acid trip.

With the Shrooms one has to be very careful of cross breeding with other strains of fungi.
A controlled environment is necessary.
In Our “younger days” (lol), We experimented with lots of things.

Recently I figured that inflation will rise steeply sooner or later so I’ve not only been buying up on food but also things that I’ll need anyway.

Like today I bought 3 pairs of skater shoes [Skater shoes don’t start falling apart like brand names such as Nike crap]

Last week I made a couple of orders for feminised cannabis seeds to stock up [properly stored, canna seeds will remain viable for a long time. The White Widow and White Widow x Amnesia that I recently germinated were over 10 years old] .

An order arrived today and instead of the 20 seeds I ordered, I received 10 of a strain I hadn’t.

Long story short; they’re resending my order and said I could keep the 10 Pure Blue Dream seeds as a gift for the inconvenience.

The three seeds that I popped were turned to 12/12 light [turning back the light from 18 hours to 12 induces flowering] a few weeks ago.

All three are now showing the first signs of budding. smileys-happy-783140 [White Widow. WW x Amnesia, which I’ve grown many times previously. It’s a brilliant day-med. Fast Train]

Yesterday a mate and I drove to a hydro shop where I bought my first grow set-up over thirty years ago.

It’s 35klms away. My local grow shop is so over priced [and the owner is an arrogant fuck] that even accounting for fuel it’s cheaper to go for a drive.

I’ve recently had the feeling that I needed to stock up on medium [coco-coir] and nutrients.

Looks like I dodged a bullet. The owner was telling me how everything is going up in price and that I came at a good time because they’re running out of stock due to supply and delivery issues [being a long time customer I was charged at the old prices, saving me at least $100]

Nutrients in-particular he said, are getting harder and harder to source. [Countries like the Netherlands and Canada are now cracking down on nitrogen of all things. See where this is going? Without either CO2 or nitrogen, plants simply cannot grow]

My stash of supplies should last me 3-4 years.

Yep. I’d advised my mate, who also grows, a couple of months ago that now was the time to stock up. [He’s one of those types who never fuckn listens because he thinks he knows better than everyone else]

My ute [utility vehicle - think El Camino shape] is not suitable to carry a heap of coco-coir bags because even if it was covered with a tarp, if I was pulled over by Highway Patrol they’d most likely want to be shown what I was carrying.

The stash of medium and nutrients are clearly used for mainly one thing, growing cannabis.

Although I only grow 2-3 plants at a time, a cop would immediately jump to the conclusion that I was a big time grower and would most probably have arranged a search warrant, which is why I needed to go in my mates hatchback where everything’s hidden from sight.

Had my mate not called yesterday morning to go for the run, I would have risked it and gone by myself next week.

This is a very good example of why I’ve learned to not ever ignore my intuition.

Based on what the hydro shop owner was saying, if we had waited much longer, the bill would have been 50% more expensive.

Had we waited even a few months longer, more than a few essential items would be out of stock.

so you get what? 4 ounces per plant? ever considered/researched growing with a hydroponic system? do you know anyone growing hydro? everyone I know grows dirt and only gets 5 ounces per plant max

seems to me that a really good hydro set up could potentially grow 50+ ounces per plant, but obviously anyone who develops such a set up probably isn’t sharing the details with anyone else for free, right?

Yes I first learned hydro from a friend - I supplied the space and electricity. My mate supplied everything else including the clones for a 50/50 split.

The first two grows were 49 plants on a flood and drain tray [approx 4’ x 2’] I forget the weight of those harvests.

My 3rd grow was a bucket flood and drain in expanded clay. 3 x Super Skunk, 1 Northern Lights. 400W HPS [High pressure sodium]

Each plant gave around 6-7oz dried bud.

Now that I grow in coco-coir/perlite with a 600w [equivalent] LED light, depending on the strain, I get between 3 to 4.5oz per plant.

Although hydro produces a bigger yield than coco-coir/perlite in pots, hydro grown bud has an edge to it that I simply don’t like.

Many growers [those who grow for personal use in-particular] agree that bud grown in pots is a better smoke. Not stronger, just a more pleasant high.

Quality over quantity.

The only complaint that I ever receive is that my bud is “too strong”.

trying to compare the quality of the smoke without looking at what nutrients were used is pointless, when a lot of the taste is a direct result of which nutrients are used

I am designing a fully automated drip feed system with clay pebbles as the medium, and I am going to use the screen of green method while topping each plant six times to produce 64 bud sites on the main stem so I can trim off all other bud sites and only have big fat buds

the real reason I am so confident my system will vastly outproduce other systems is the square footage of the roots, most people who grow in soil have what, a two foot diameter X 2 feet high at most, 8 square feet of root space at most and the roots are hindered by the soil being in the way, I will have 4 feet X 3 feet X 2.5 feet high for 30 square feet of root space without any soil in the way because most of the roots will be hanging in open air space so they can absorb way more oxygen than plants in soil

imho the weakest link growing in soil is the roots, and how little oxygen the roots can absorb, so we will see what the difference will be

I will also be using remo nutrients since they are one of the best brands available

i gave it a shot when i was younger but it just fucked with me. unbelievable cotton mouth and throat. I have a very sensitive gag reflex so when my throat got dry it felt like i was choking even though I wasn’t. made my eyes very throbby and “rough” feeling combined with headaches that were just throbbing. not my thing. But it does wonders for A LOT of people. therefore I’m not against it. Just doesn’t work for me lol

Physical side-effects like cottonmouth very much depends on the strain and how much one imbibes.

Many strains these days are rather strong.

Were I in your position and needed cannabis for medicine, I’d grow a CBD strain, [CBD strains were initially grown for kids with epilepsy] that will not get you high.

Those who say my bud is “too strong” aren’t content to follow my advice to ‘smoke less then you numbskull’. They punch a few bongs in succession before the full effects of the first bong hits them.

I’ve been growing my own medicine for over thirty years and I still get high on just one pipe.

Black market bud I need 3 for the same effect.

The experience of thousands of long time growers and users who’ve compared it for themselves over several dozen grows is “pointless” because you think you know better? Without ever putting your theory to the test over multiple grows?

It’s hilarious how peeps are sucked into thinking that they need to spend big money on ‘you beaut’ nutes that are way more expensive than what’s necessary.

Years ago I’d fill in for a mate at his hydro store one day a week.

One of his regulars was a big time indoor grower, growing several hundred plants per crop.

He used Dutch Canna nutes for years, buying the stuff in 20 litre drums at big cost.

He got to thinking; nitrogen is nitrogen regardless of the label on the nute bottle. Phosphorous is phosphorus. Potassium is potassium.

So he bought some home garden variety nutes from a hardware store, that was way cheaper than the DC, and put it to the test.

A quarter of his plants received the ‘cheap’ nutes, the rest were fed with the DC.

“What difference would you expect between the two?” he asked.

“There should have been no difference” was my reply. Why? Because as long as a plant has it’s needs met, the quality and yield relies entirely on genetics.

There was no difference in size of the plants, the yield and most importantly, none of his many customers noticed any difference in quality.

From that time on the guy only used regular nutes designed for vegie gardens. [I still use ‘hydro’ nutes simply for the convenience since I only grow 2-3 plants at a time]

This bloke was not a smoker, he grew entirely for profit.

When he first started growing [on a much smaller scale] he grew hydroponically. He quickly switched to growing in pots because his customers recognised his bud immediately for what it was and told him that they were not interested in buying “that hydro crap”.

It’s why most home growers grow their plants in pots.

Quality beats quantity. But hey, if you’re unable to tell the difference . . . . . smileys-coffee-270027
